Jasper is an opaque, solid or patterned variety of cryptocrystalline quartz which consists of very tiny quartz crystals colored by various mineral impurities.  Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer”. It is believed to sustain and support through times of stress, and brings tranquility and wholeness. It is also believed to provide protection and absorb negative energy and encourage honesty with one's self.
