Malachite was considered a calming, balancing, and healing stone that protected travelers, breaking to warn of impending danger.

In Russian lore, people believed that anyone who drank from a goblet made of malachite would be blessed with the power to understand the language of animals.

Malachite is soft, somewhat brittle, and sensitive to both heat and acids. It requires gentle care. Mechanical cleaning methods, such as ultrasonic or steam cleaning, aren’t recommended.
