Watermelon Tourmaline Ring

Tourmaline is a birthstone for October, along with opal. Tourmaline is also the gem of the eighth anniversary.  Watermelon Tourmaline, like Ametrine, is a combination of two color of the same stone.  Watermelon tourmaline is a combination of Pink and Green tourmaline often with a thin band of white between the two.  Looks very much like watermelon with the rind.  

Tourmaline jewelry can be cleaned with a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water at home. Soak the stone for ten to twenty minutes in warm soapy water, then scrub gently but firmly with a soft toothbrush. Dry carefully before storing. It is not recommend to use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
