Jasper is an opaque, solid or patterned variety of cryptocrystalline quartz which consists of very tiny quartz crystals colored by various mineral impurities. The names of various jaspers can come from their color, pattern or from a place name. Sesame Jasper is known by its pastel pink and mint green coloring "peppered" with black.  Jaspers are found all over the world, their microcrystals are laid out in large, sugar-like grains rather than the fibrous layers of Chalcedony or Agate.

Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer”. It is believed to sustain and support through times of stress, and brings tranquility and wholeness. It is also believed to provide protection and absorb negative energy and encourage honesty with one's self.
