Bismuth is a brittle, crystalline, white metal with a slight pink tinge. When grown in a lab it forms beautiful crystaline fractals, like this one. 

It has a variety of uses, including cosmetics, alloys, fire extinguishers and ammunition. It is probably best known as the main ingredient in stomach ache remedies like Pepto-Bismol.

Bismuth is believed to help with feelings of loneliness or isolation.
